Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's cabinet chief, Avni Arifi, who was also present at the meeting called by US Ambassador Philip Costet, has confirmed in Rubik's KTV that the Kosovo government's stance does not change, and the tax remains.
Arifi said that Prime Minister Haradinaj, like the president of Wessel, remains with the same stance that the tax should not be lifted until the recognition of Kosovo, though it has mentioned the option to suspend that move.
According to him, such a thing would be possible only if talks with Serbia began in a serious and intensive format. But, as Arifi said, in addition to the photographs in Brussels, no serious talks are under way, and agreements are remaining un implemented.
There's a modularity mentioned earlier that if we make a quick form of negotiations then we can suspend the tax, like if an intensive form of negotiations had started. This stance is public and is also mentioned by the prime minister and speaker of the Assembly. But we are not interested in just going to Brussels, and in the meantime there are many agreements left without implementation”, Arifi said.
He made it known that Haradinaj's positions -- Veseli and Limaj -- face dialogue and tax -- are entirely the same.
