The debate over changing borders between Kosovo and Serbia was one of the topics discussed on TopChannel television. A chronicle recalled Eddie Rama's statement given in September last year. Rama then said that: “I have the strong feeling that we are in front of a historic” perspective.
For Pascal Milon, Albania's former foreign minister, the issue of changing borders between Kosovo and Serbia may be a suggestion, but that will not be realised for a relatively long time.
“Maybe in another circumstance when the two countries may be ready to enter the EU, perhaps then. But under conditions where the two countries don't have a healthy dialogue, I don't think it will. There may be international consensus, but if there is no national consensus, there is no”, he said.
Asked how it seems to him that Rama seems pro-border change, while Meta seems opposed, Milo replied: “backed up in statements I heard, this gives the impression that Rama is against changing borders, while Meta says no. But the truth is, it is not those who want it, but the Kosovo Albanians. It's an independent and democratic state and they decide. Even Kosovo's own leaders, when fighting in Kosovo, seek support in Tirana, but this does not look normal to me”. / TCh
