Olympiacos announced through a communique on Twitter that the veteran Côte d'Ivoire midfielder has joined the team, the newspaper Express broadcast.
Yaya Toures' agent Seluk had discovered on Tuesday evening that his client had successfully passed medical tests in London, thus prompting speculation that he would join a London club as free transfer.
Now, however, it is also officially known that Toure will continue his career in Olympiacos, where he had played during 2005. He had won Greece's league and Cup before moving to Monaco after the 2006 World Cup.
The 35-year-old is believed to earn about 2m euros annually at his new club.
Toure was on Manchester City's team until last season, but he was not awarded contracts, so the eight-year period in City came to an end. His agent offered a large number of Premierliga clubs the possibility of moving his client, however, none of them expressed interest. /Gazza Express/
