Ali Ahmeti: Become 30th NATO Country, Accept Northern Macedonia

The Democratic Union for Integration has continued with its activity under the referendum campaign, standing among the Prespa citizens of Prespa, who were asked to be part of the victory on September 30th by voting “FOR Macedonia in NATO”

DUI chairman Ali Ahmeti points out to Prespa's citizens that this is an unprecedented moment and that on September 30th the fates of people living in these spaces are decided.

This referendum has a specific referendum because we are together for a purpose. It is the first moment that in the history of the Republic of Macedonia, two larger Albanian and Macedonian communities travel and work to make this referendum successful and we join as the first step in NATO. We, the invitation for membership, have and after completing the implementation of this agreement, are also expected ratification by all NATO member states with whom we expect within 15 months with all rights to become the 30th country in the largest military-political alliance called NATO. While in June of next year, we are expected to sign the agreement on starting membership talks with the European Union,” said DUI leader Ahmeti.

In association with DUI chairman Ali Ahmeti, ahead of Prespa's citizens stood, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani, MP Agim Shaqiri and Valmir State Secretary of Culture Minister.
