Albania's Ambassador to Rome, Anila Bitri, has declared that there are no Albanians injured following the collapse of the bridge in the Liguria region, despite many of them living in the region.
Bitri has indicated that the Albanian honourary consul in Liguria is available for any assistance.
We've been following with pain today the tragic event of the bridge collapse, an important point linking the region of Liguria to the national highways network and those that further connect Italy to Europe. It is a region that has an Albanian population. We have no information to have missing Albanians or lives affected in the region. We will further expect developments, the identification of the victims to have more detailed information”, she said.
Meanwhile, she has expressed solidarity about this serious event.
Everyone is hurt by this severe tragedy. We are carefully following the situation and are willing to assist in the event of need. Our honorary consul in the region is ready to be in service to the citizens”, she has said.
But, Kosovo's ambassador to this state, Alma Lama has not issued a statement yet.
This embassy has not even sent any notice or number to be called to learn about the situation of Albanians there.
The KP has even contacted MPJ officials, but no one has been declared on the issue yet.
