Thaci has written on Facebook that his aim is not to offend journalists who he says are one of the most important pillars of democracy.
A misunderstanding was created at yesterday's conference during my conversation with “Cohes Ditore” journalist Fitim Gashi. I apologize to Fitim and all those who could feel insulted during this press conference, but this has never been and will never be my goal. I have always maintained respect for the work of journalists, as one of the most important pillars of democracy”, Thaci has said.
He has also been declared for frequent media conferences he has held this month.
The latest “phase of dialogue for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is a lasting and historical process for Kosovo. For all journalists, media and Kosovo citizens, this will be an open process. To increase transparency and avoid misunderstandings and misinterpretations, this month I have held frequent media conferences to provide needed clarifications. I want to thank all the media and journalists in Kosovo, who in last week are conducting the dialogue process professionally. In this conversation with journalists, I always try to be open and, of course, answer their every question and dilemma that are related to the dilemmas of Kosovo citizens”, Thaci wrote.
On the other hand, he says he encourages all journalists not to stop screaming, asking, raising dilemmas on all topics of national interest./Periscopi
