Thaci, through his official Facebook account, has said he has long rejected the option of dividing and exchanging territories, but is talking about reforming the border peacefully, in favour of Kosovo, writes Periscopi.
The President's full response:
A message to those who feel that restoring the borders peacefully is a bad idea, despite the fact that they know it is the only possibility that Presevo, Bujanovac and Medveja join Kosovo.
To be clear: I have long rejected the option of dividing and exchanging territories. I'm only talking about reforming the border peacefully, and that, in Kosovo's favour. While, the objectors of this proposal propaganda for division and exchange of territories.
In such a situation, indeed there is no other way but to empower the decision-making of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, enabling them to decide for themselves who is right and what option is in the interest of Kosovo. Therefore, it is imperative that we enable our citizens the right to the referendum, which I am working for to become a reality.
