This square, which is located between the Kosovo Assembly and the Pristina municipality, has been in very poor shape for years, while the project for its adjustment has started on 13 March of this year.
Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti has said there has been delays in implementing this project as part of the space belongs to the Parliament, while now he is very happy that this project is finally ending.
Pristina's first has spoken even about the possible space for the September deployment of the legendary KLA war hero, Adem Jashar.
We as the Comun have proposed three different locations to find the merit site. Of course, that we think it should be close to the Republic of Kosovo Assembly, or find a better place. Three proposals were given to the Parliament. We'll wait for the best proposal now. The cost of the project to upgrade “Adem Jashari” has been 309m euros. He now has more green space, and more seats for rest. The shift of floor tiles and the revitive of green spaces around it has been made, not changing the components of the square now.
Otherwise, about three years ago Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti had warned the renovation of the “Adem Jashari”, but the works were stuck after the Pristina municipality and the Kosovo Assembly, which share ownership of square spaces, had not reached reconciliation over the platform arrangement.
In 2016, differences between these two institutions caused a donation of 270 thousand euros to be lost by the Swiss DEMOs to regulate this space.
