Police in action, 16 people arrested in Pristina, Gjilan and Ferizaj for arms trafficking

Kosovo police, the Directorate for Organised Crime Investigation, respectively, in co-operation with the State Prosecutor, have conducted intensive investigations aimed at clarifying the criminal activity of several suspects involved in committing criminal acts of arms trafficking. “Based on the order of the competent court, on 29.08.2018 in the region [...]
“Based on the competent court's ordinance, on 29.08.2018 in the Pristina region (in four locations), the Gjilan (in two locations) and Ferizaj (16 locations), has been held by the police operation coded by the name of ♫ SYRI , which has resulted in the arrest of 16) persons suspected of gun trafficking”, the Kosovo Police report said.
Police units at 22 locations have conducted search of houses and escorting facilities, property of suspects aimed at collecting evidence for the suspect's criminal activity.

During this police operation, material evidence has been seized: 19000 euros in cash, 3 long arms, 17 short different calibre weapons, 2850 different calibre bullets, 20 caricators, 1 Bulgarian passport, 3 phones and other documents that apply for further judicial procedure.
Suspected persons, according to the prosecutor's decision, are sent to keep it.
Police say they remain committed to realising its constitutional and legal duties to provide public order and security, combating criminal activities, including trafficking in weapons.
