According to him, he does not have the right to retire football players, but that his words have been misunderstood.
“I don't have the right to retire the players, only to select or not a football player”, Petkovic told Swiss media.
“I just wanted to inform some players that the matches in the League of Nations will be used to enable new players to be easier to choose the team for next year's Euro 2020” qualifications, Lazio's former coach said.
“All the players understood my reasonableness, Gelson Fernandes even expected him to retire, everyone else understood, unfortunately only Valon not”, continued the number one of the Swiss Nationals.
Petkovic has said he regrets Behram, since he does not deserve it.
