The Institute for the Protection of Democratic Values has once again clarified that in Kosovo there are not 101 cases of women murders from domestic violence, but there are 12 murders.
This institute through a communique says that in terms of names on this list, in addition to 12 murders, all other murders have occurred outside the terror of the Republic of Kosovo, most of these murders have occurred in Albania respectively, but there are cases that have occurred in Italy, Switzerland and Germany.
The “should be stressed that every human life is marked, but that the IMVD estimates that their proper and accurate reporting and particularly motive serves joint efforts in fighting this phenomenon. It is a fact that the Kosovo woman is at risk of being a victim of murder unless she is offered protection when she addresses the Kosovo Police by presenting the threats, in this segment it now remains the state of Kosovo to act differently, effectively and with the protection of victims who present threats at the police, to avoid the killings of women in Kosovo. Even if only one woman was killed, it is a major alarm for Kosovo in the century in which we live and are taken on the basis of the Democratic system, as well as the laws in power which together guarantee the protection of all Kosovo citizens. If an account is to be sought by Kosovo Police for failing to intervene and for most cases of protection of victims after the threat is presented, then this account in relation to this list should be sought for the 12 cases killed in Kosovo and not for 101 cases, which have not occurred in the Republic of Kosovo. In no form is Kosovo Police acquitted, which has not reacted in time and has put in place defense mechanisms against threats, which were presented by murdered women. But for this demand to have the most full and real effect, I believe it should refer to more accurate data. Kosovo should not remain under the darkness of patriarchal fanatics, which essentially have the loss of human rights to fatality. Women in Kosovo should not seek rights and protection, law enforcement is required from Kosovo institutions because it is the law that offers protection, security and rights, and in no form certain individuals or even entities. The failure to implement the Law in this direction was, is, and remains the institutional responsibility”, said the communique.
