At the funeral of a woman who was killed in a bomb blast near the Iraqi border with her 11-month-old child, Erdogan said Turkey would continue to fight Kurdish rebels, whom Turkish authorities hold responsible for the attack.
The 24-year-old woman died yesterday with her son in a bomb explosion near the road, when she returned from visiting her husband, a sergeant in the Turkish Army.
She was killed at the scene of the explosion, while the child was subjected to hospital wounds. Responding to calls collected to impose a death sentence, the Turkish president said that <x0-steps for Turkey to take decision on the issue is close to”.
No one has been executed in Turkey since 1984 and that the state officially lifted the death penalty in 2004, in a bid to join the European Union.
