Uglamin expresses regret that the nationalist regime from Belgrade prevented Pacolli's visit

He was invited by BNV leader Sulejman Uglan, but the Serbian government rejected his visit.

It was Serbian national television that announced Pacolli's refusal to visit, saying that, based on the reasoning given by the Government of Serbia, “U n NMIC does not recognise Foreign Affairs Minister” in Kosovo, the Cohae.net broadcasts.

Serbia's prime minister, Anna Brnabiq, warned Council leaders to respect their state laws, in particular the Law on National Minority Councils of Ethnics, which prohibits council members from getting involved in politics.

Brnabyq told the members of the BNV not to abuse their council, adding that <x0-initiatives such as these are contrary to the body's purpose and activity”.

It called on the BNV leadership to be serious, responsible to the citizens it represents and not to collect free policy points” on account of stability. The prime minister also asked them not to misuse the tolerance and understanding of the Government of Serbia.

Meanwhile, BNV President Sulejman Uglan has thanked Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli for his willingness to visit Sandzak and has expressed his regret that the current nationalist regime in Belgrade “has hampered this visit.

With great regret we have accepted the information that the current nationalist regime from Belgrade has prevented your coming and has unable the citizens of Sandzak to hear the other side regarding the process of normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia”, Uglan said in a letter sent to Pacolli, which has been posted on the BNV site, broadcast Koha.net.

He has thanked Pacolli for his willingness to visit Sandzak “even despite all obstacles imposed by Serbia's nationalist regime”.

Uglan has ordered Pacolli not to be disturbed by the “threats sent to the Bosnian people by Serbian Prime Minister Anna Bernabiq” on this occasion.

These threats are an expression of intolerance to Sandzak's Bosniak people and ignoring legal rules”, he stressed.

BNV leader Uglan has said he hopes in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integrations, on Serbia's political scene to present a normal, tolerant and democratic political “oppossion that will be able to solve the “status of the Bosniak people and Sandzak status, which is the main condition for the remnant of Bosniaks in these” areas.

During the day, the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through a communique for the media, expressed regret and indignation at the Belgrade authorities' decision not to allow Minister Pacolli's visit to Novi Pazar.

The Republic of Kosovo has always acted in line with the Brussels Agreement on visits by senior officials and has respected the required procedures. This case again shows that Belgrade is not committed to respecting the Brussels Accords and causes unnecessary tensions to prevent the visits of senior Kosovo officials to Serbia's territory. We, today live in the century, where people's free movement is human fundamental right and every state of government had to respect it. Kosovo has respected these rights of great devotion and will always respect them until they are abused, as in many cases that occurred in the past with guests from the northern neighbouring state”, says the MPJ report, broadcast Koha.net.

On the other hand, it is said it would be reasonable, for Kosovo to maintain the right to reciprocal measures against the Belgrade authorities under the Brussels Agreement, but we dedicate ourselves to fundamental rights for free movement of people until they are malicious.

Let's recall the fact that even the visit of Kosovars to their countrymen in Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja should be put in reciprocity with the visits of Serbs to their countrymen to Kosovo”, the response concludes.
