The Kosovo issue has split the political scene in Serbia in half. Opposition parties there are now, a long time ago, dropping numerous criticisms towards Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq of his approach and actions in the face of reaching the final agreement with Kosovo.
The Vuciqi strategy that the Kosovo issue does not remain a frozen conflict in the Balkans, by opposition parties is seen as a strategy in the side of which Vuciq is trying to win political points, writes “Kurir”.
Political Affairs Awareer, and at the same time “Transparency” in Serbia, Vladimir Goati says that although compromise with Kosovo is necessary, the opposition in Serbia will use this to attack the country's president even more.
“compromis is required. But the opposition is awaiting details from this agreement that would be unpleasant to the Serbian people to attack the president even more. Instead of reaching an internal consensus on the Kosovo issue, the opposition has raised its hands. They do not have a proposal for Kosovo, but still criticize others who have one. That's why they impress that everything they do is for political gain. All of this comes from a nationalist position, such a thing is totally unfair”, he says.
Of other political scene connoisseurs in Serbia is considered Vuciqi's decisions, whether good or bad, are being rejected by the Serbian opposition.
The problem is that they are not constructive, politics is based on criticism, but in exchange they do not offer other proposals for resolving with Kosovo”, says politicologist Boban Stojanovic.
It is noteworthy that severe clashes recently occurred between Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, and former Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, with the latter constantly accusing Vuciqi of providing Kosovo sit-down at the UN with its actions.
