The Association of Montenegrins of Kosovo has said that the commitment of Montenegrin Army members to the KFOR mission will strengthen this country's position in NATO, and contribute to preserving peace in the region.
The reaction comes after statements by a Democratic Front MP in Montenegro's Parliament and Serbian Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin that the decision to send two Montenegrin Army officers to Kosovo is not correct against Serbia.
Official “Belgrade and Pristina since 2013 exchanged liaison officials, which is a form of diplomatic co-operation, as well as co-operation between the Army of Serbia and KFOR, has continued since 2001. On the basis of all of this, we don't see that Montenegrin soldiers and officials in the KFOR mission in any way harm anyone, on the contrary, they will be useful to all in Kosovo, the region and the wider”, said in response.
