Shortly after 3: 00 a.m., a patient attacked one of the nurses at the Emergency Center. The patient, who was bitten by a bee, reacted after the nurse asked him to receive a guide at the entrance of the clinic.
The attacked nurse, Lulzim Thaci, is in good health until the 49-year-old nurse, who, based on information received by Kosovo police, has already attacked the nurse.
With the prosecutor's recommendation, he has been sent to the Preservation Centre for 48 hours. The attack has allegedly occurred as a result of a dispute between the doctor and suspects over the medical treatment. The case has been initiated and police have launched an investigation into circumstances characterising it”, said the response by Kosovo Police.
Unacceptable has named violence the director of Emergency Clinic, under which the patient was not an emergency case and should not receive treatment at KKUK at all.
The QKUK Health Union has also reacted, according to which, this case points to a disturbing phenomenon with a tendency to increase violence against doctors.
The continuation of this phenomenon at this rate proves that a more serious assessment and greater commitment is needed. Mantel Whites who are subjected to violence by patients or third parties should be immunely protected by drafting preventive strategies of this” phenomenon, the QKUK's response said.
On the other hand, the director of the Kosovo University Clinical Hospital Service has spoken of the possibility of drafting a strategy that would reduce the large number of patients seeking treatment.
At the USKKKU General Directorate during the day, OSCE chief Jan Braathhu has remained excited about the fact that patients' waiting list for treatment at KKUK's Cardiosurgy Service in Cardiology has been removed.
