Kosovo, Albanian police together in patrols until August 31st

In this case, street police directors of both states -- the one from Kosovo underkolonel, Sabedin Mehmeti and the one from Albania -- Mitat Tola have said these patrols, which are the result of the success of three years' preliminary years under the memorandum of co-operation between the two institutions.

We are actually continuing today with the line of co-operation with next year of co-operation between the Kosovo Police and the Albanian Police. We appreciate that this period of co-operation has been successful so far, that is why we are continuing with this co-operation. This is the eighth year in fact, 7 years ago this collaboration started and this is the eighth year we're starting today and we're ending on August 31st. There will be joint patrols, there will be joint control points, there will be joint preventative activity between the Kosovo Police and the Albanian police, and we will continue with the next shift -- this is the first time”, Mehmeti said.

Directors have indicated that currently three teams of integrated street police employees from the two countries are participating in joint patrols.

And citizens have divided opinions about patrols.
