During this week, police in Greece have arrested dozens of migrants because they were trying to travel to other European countries with false passports or IDs.
On the island of Crete, 66 total people have been detained who have attempted to travel with false documents via Heraklion, Janine, and Sitea airports.
These people have attempted to fly from Greece to Germany, France and other Western European countries, Greek police have announced.
Migrants, who have had false travel documents, have been repeatedly apprehended by Greek authorities during the summer tourist season.
smugglers are selling migrants forged documents, since the Balkan “road” -- which migrants used earlier to reach European countries -- has been closed, Greek authorities have said.
