Daciq: America supports us for reaching compromise with Kosovo

Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has met in Washington -- President Donald Trump's adviser, John Bolton.

After meetings held in Washington, Dacic said Serbia should use this moment, writes Periscope.

The American administration now is willing, at least to speak up and equally listen to our proposals for resolving the big problem we have in the region, which is that a long-term solution to the Kosovo issue is needed. We have received an open support for finding a compromise that is a very positive thing for Serbia and an opportunity to find a solution that is in the interests of all parties”, Dachic said, whose words are also cited in a Serbian Foreign Ministry media statement, writes Periscopi.

Daciq has been on a two-day visit to the United States, where he met some senior American officials.

He has said that the new administration led by Donald Trump has created a more positive atmosphere for Serbia, adding that the American administration has great understanding of Belgrade's position, just as there is readiness to address problems and establish reports between the two countries.

Dacic has said that the talks he held with President Trump's National Security Adviser John Bolton and Secretary of State for Europe and Asia, Vesna Michel, have been very constructive” and were held in a highly positive atmosphere.

He has said Bolton has told him the Trump administration believes that so far, American politics in the Balkans has been managed by an autopilot.

We'll continue the contacts, I repeat that the United States supports dialogue, is a big chance, because in the past, when you've talked to Americans you've heard only words of kind like: the problem must be solved, he said.

Daciq has said that his visit to the United States is a good sign that will produce good results for Serbia”, and a good opportunity to revolve reports between America and Serbia.

Dacic has said he has also announced the head of the Serbian state, Aleksandar Vuciq, for the positive visit to the US, saying this visit has been different from other times and that Serbia should use this moment for reaffirming its foreign policy.

So, we're going to solve problems in the region in the way everyone wants to, not ask who's going to lose something. This is a big chance”, Dacic said. /Periscopi/
