The large number of asylum seekers in Western countries in recent years has raised various questions: how will asylum seekers integrate into society? Are labour markets in these countries able to provide opportunities for an independent life for refugees and immigrants?
But any challenge also offers opportunities. Lena Zdruli, a young Albanian professional in Washington, decided to open a new business based on social conscience, which offers a sweet and healthy product.
She has decided to hire only refugee women. The Voice of America spoke with Lena Zdrul about its company “Dafero”, its role as new entrepreneur, and that plans for the future.
