According to the TV channel RTL) in Croatia, construction has stopped at a 1,471m tunnel through a mountainous range near the town of Omis, aimed at connecting to an existing ByPass and resolving the city's serious traffic problems.
The tunnel was to connect to the Omi Bridge and was considered part of an important infrastructure project to ensure a faster link for residents between the city and the main coastal route.
It was also hoped that the road would facilitate the city's main traffic unblocking during its tourist season.
Construction began six years ago, but ʹ RTL says everything is stopped and the money is now being spent elsewhere.
This has caused ordinary people to iron out on the project.
Many Omis residents have complained at RTL about the project.
It takes me half an hour to get to my house and three hours to get to Split and Makassa, one resident said.
Franne, another resident, says: This is all a game for them, maybe they think Batman lives there, while Ante adds: This intersection is the worst in Omis, but there is no money, so there can be nothing.
