The Vetevendosje movement, through a statement, has reacted today to what it has called attacks on its members from the Pristina municipality, as well as cited the NPB officials' conversation.
After recalling, as it says, the revival of the Banesor Public Enterprise, accuses Pristina municipality chairman Shpend Ahmeti of these attacks and adds that the conversation has become public and selective.
This is Vetevendosje's statement-review:
“These two days in the media, we have read and heard attacks on V Movement members SEVENTION! who are engaged with the Pristina municipality, and we have also heard a conversation made public of officials at the Macedonian Public Company (NPB).
First, we want to remind the public that the NPB is a revived and functional company like no other company in the Pristina municipality. From a company heavily in debt and corruption, it has become the only profitable local company at the Kosovo level, working with transparency and high responsibility towards the citizens of Pristina. All this has been accomplished thanks to the work and dedication of NPB leaders and staff in these four years.
Second, we are interested in better understanding what has happened in the published conversation and public attacks that have been done to the NPB staff directly by the mayor of the municipality, Shpend Ahmeti, and by people informed by him within the Pristina municipality. From the information we have until today we have found that publicised conversations have been cut down in such a way as to get out of context the discussions made among NPB officials. However, the V Movement Centre EVIDENCE! In Pristina, it invites organs to investigate any allegations of violations, as well as to deal with the case even through internal statuteic mechanisms of Movement.
Third, it's clear why Shpend Ahmeti, and his senior officials are attacking NPB officials right now, even though the claim is that the violation occurred five months ago and these records were made by exactly the people of Shpend Ahmeti who were present at that meeting. This attack comes after the dismissal that took place in the PSD's Municipal Assembly of the shareholder in the company, which had committed proven violations by authorities. Since Shpend Ahmeti lost an official willing to commit violations at the NPB, he is trying to blackmail other officials of the company. At the last two sessions of the Municipal Assembly, assemblyists of the V Movement EVIDENCE! They did not allow the lowering of standards that would enable the mismanagement of the municipality's public property. Therefore, Shpend Ahmeti and the PSD today are no longer choosing means to achieve their close personal goals.
Movement V ENVENTION! in Pristina aims to build a working model in Kosovo institutions that is raised on justice and transparency, which does not discriminate and favour anyone, but is raised on the values of the rule of law and common good. This model we will bring back to life despite the special war, and no matter which one it is orchestrated with”.
Critically critical of what has already happened, but in the past, there are opposition cabs. Social Democratic Party Parliamentary Group chief Dardan Sejdiu says it is sad, how all governments now 18 years are spreading their ignorance, in terms of handling such contracts as this with bechtel Enkenão, which are costing too much of the country's budget.
