The Kosovo government will support publication and distribution of the book by abolishing taxes. This was Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's promise at the opening ceremony of the Book Fair, which is the 20th consecutive “Pristina 2018”.
In this jubilee, Haradinaj talking about the importance of the fair invited the country's citizens to maintain their ties with the book, while adding that in this edition, the fair, readers and publishers deserve valuable orders from the country's government.
“As the country's government, we are determined to support the publication, the distribution of the book. And that's with the ease of tax, that's with the VAT on zero and law enforcement that will guarantee that. Somewhere in September, I believe we'll be functional. As a generation of freedom we've read, we're inspired, we've got from the reborns, from the heroes, from the great men and ladies our nation has given, for the greatest purposes, and that is the purpose of freedom. I call on all the citizens of the country, of all ages, to continue connecting with the book, because that way we will be better able to do what we do in life”, he said.
Albania's ambassador to Kosovo, Kemal Minxhozi, in his address, stressed that the book fair was born of rifle to bring peace to Kosovo.

Pristina municipality Chairman Shpend Ahmeti said the 20th edition of the book fair is evidence of the book's non-relaunchable work.
He said he is aware of the challenges the Association of Kosovo publishers has in finding funding to keep the book fair in Pristina alive.
The pleasure of being on the anniversary of the book. It's a pleasure to be among the soldiers of the book, because I as mayor know what David Demaku, Abdullah Zenelli, to ask for funds to organize this fair and I know what they do knocking on every door to keep this fair alive, to offer readers an extraordinary opportunity to see the books, which these writers write for us every year”, Ahmeti said.
While the chairman of the Association of Editors in Kosovo, Daut Demaku, said it is to take pride in organising the 20th Book Fair in Pristina, where all Albanian publishers and world colosses are participating.
“We, the Association of Kosovo Editors, are very proud to have managed to realise 20 editions of the fair in Pristina. This is the biggest cultural event in Kosovo. The event, with the most stable organisation for 20 years rowing”, was expressed until it recalled the organisation of the first post-war fair in Kosovo.
Demak expressed gratitude for the ministry of culture and the Pristina municipality, for which he said they are the biggest supporters of the book, Kosovo Preress reports. But he did not without ordering readers to maintain the purity of the Albanian language.
While Jevat Bajrami from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports said this fair is the biggest compared to other years, as 1,400 Albanian titles and books translated from all languages in the world will be presented.
