A world that is expected to be historic also because of broken records. Dies of these records can be broken by players, some of the teams, and others have links to certain confrontations.
Records in Power
Oldest Player, Oldst Captain, Oldest Debuter
The oldest player: Farid Mondragon, Colombia (43 years, 3 days)
The oldest captain: Peter Shilton, England (40, 292 days)
The oldest pilot: David James, England (39, 321 days)
Essam El-Hadary, the 45-year-old Egyptian goalkeeper, is expected to be titled with his team this summer. The moment he's in the field from the first minute, he'll break three records. This will be Egypt's first global participation since 1994, and it will be the oldest debuter, the oldest player and oldest World Cup captain.
More Worldly Captains
The most global player as captain: Rafael Marquez, Mexico (4)
It is possible for Rafael Marquez to break his record records this summer. In order to do that, everything has to be good for Mrabuz. He has gathered with the national despite fears that his connection to a 2017 incident in connection with a drug trafficking could expel him from the team.
This will be its fifth World and if he gets the tape (current captain, Andres Guardado, having one-bit trouble), it would be his fifth appearance as captain. Even if Guadrado is in shape, Coach Juan Carlos Ororio can still give him the tape.
Club with more players in the World Cup
Club with more players at the World Cup: Arsenal with 15 (2006)
Except for the injuries, Manchester City will send a record number of players to the World Cup: 17. They will break the record set by Arsenal in 2006, which has endured for more than a decade.
City will have four players in Brazil (Ferandinho, Gabriel Jesus, Danilo and Ederson) and England (Kile Wilder, Fabian Delf, Raheem Sterling, John Stones), two in Argentina (Nicolas Othandini, Sergio Aguero), Germany (Ikay Gundogan, Leroy Sane) and Belgjika (Kavi De Brune, Vincent Company), and from Spain (David Silvad), Portugal (Ber) Silva and France (Majan Mandy).
A player in each group
There's no record of this because it's the first time that happens, always if there's no damage. Barcelona will be the first team to have at least one player in each of the eight World Cup groups.
Group A: Louis Suwarez (Uruway)
Group B: Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba (Spanja)
Group C: Samuel Umtiti, Osmane Deble (France)
Group D: Lionel Messia (An emergency), Ivan Rakic (Croatia)
Group E: Philip Coutinho, Paulinho (Brazil)
Group F: Marc-Andre Ser Stegen (German)
Group G: Thomas Vermaelen (Belgium)
Group H: Yerry Mina (Collumb)
More matches without a goal
With many straight matches: 10 (Peter Schilton, England, 1982-90, and Fabian Barthez, France, 1998-2006)
If Germany's goalkeeper is to be in the world (the allegations are related to his physical state), he will have the opportunity to break the world's largest match record without having a goal set by Peter Shilton and Fbian Barthez.
Neuer has received no goal in the last seven matches he played in the 2010 and 2014 Worlds. A good show in groups and in the next stages would give him the record.
More Penalty Fights Won
More fights won after penalty: 4 (Glorine and Germany)
If you face Argentina or Germany after phase by group, then you have to get rid of them before you go to penalty. Both teams have shown their coolness of 100 feet [11 m] throughout history and have the habit of winning. Both hold the record and, seeing that groups are expected to pass smoothly, will have the opportunity to break this record.
More Direct Coping
8 / 15 Sweden, Germany vs. Argentina)
Some teams seem to always face each other. Such a thing is seen in club competitions, with Barcelona, for example, which always seems to be facing the same teams in the League League. That's what happens to nationals.
Sweden must have grown tired of seeing Brazil, with which it faced seven times and which they have often been beaten with profound results. One of these losses was in the 1958 World Cup final, where 5-2 were defeated.
Argentina and Germany have also faced seven times, with the last time being in the 2014 World Cup final, won by the Germans.
The 2018 tournament has created the possibility for these teams to face again. If Brazil wins the group and Sweden comes second in its group, these two teams will face it for the eighth time, while if Argentina and Germany win the respective groups and switch to the semifinals, they will face each other again.
More goals at the World Cup
World Cup goals: 16 (Miroslav Klose)
If Germany is thought to advance to the final stage of the competition, then it is likely that Miroslav Klose's best goalist record will be threatened.
The ex-attack has achieved 16 goals in four worlds, leaving behind “Fenomenin” after a landmark goal in the 7-1 victory taken against Brazil in the 2014 semifinals.
But Themas Mueller, who played with him that day and scored five goals during the World Cup, will seek to break that record.
He's made 10 total, so he needs seven to pass on Klose. Many, but for most of the world, there have been six players who have scored at least six goals. Also not to be forgotten that Mueller will play in an easy group.
