The Kosovo Journalists' Association has been informed by journalist Bujar Vitija of the threat he has received from state official Zenel Red. Case reported to the police.
Journalist Vitija has said that on Friday afternoon she was contacted by Zenel Red, Procurement official at the University Clinical Service (SHSKUK), and has asked to meet with her but the journalist has refused.
The year, editor-in-chief at the newspaper Shneta portal, says he had called because of a scripture published several days earlier that involved Red's release from the charges of damage to the state budget.
After refusing to meet, the year has been threatened by Red, who has insulted and insulted him, and suggested that he call the police. “Call the police and don't waste as much time as you have”, Red said.
The year reported the case to the police and submitted the recording of the phone as audio. He added that Red may have additional motives for threats against him due to another research that has started in connection with several recent tenders at the SHSKUK and the MSH. “The threat may be an attempt to stop the following scriptures”, Vitija said.
The AGK strongly condemns this threat by the state official to journalist Vitija and requires security and justice organs to handle the case within legal terms.
”Sulmet and threats against journalists are direct attacks on freedom of expression and the right of citizens for information. Any attack on journalists is an attack on public interest, democracy and citizens' rights.”, said by AGK.
