International Criminal Law Professor Ismet Salihu has said that the justice system in our country has not yet achieved the concept of independence for the fact that there are interferations and effects of politics.
In this interview given to the newspaper “The new era”, he has said EULEX's presence for the next two years is a kind of mechanism that in a measure protects the justice system from political interference of people in power.
Salihu has confirmed that if Kosovo does not show good results in the justice system, then it is very likely that even after two years again EULEX to continue the mandate.
He has said that the Special Court is also one of the causes and reasons it has influenced to continue the EULEX mission's mandate.
