Today is the international environmental day, which was appointed in 1972 by the UN General Assembly.
The purpose of this day is to increase awareness about environmental issues and to draw political attention to these issues as well as to promote individual action in this regard.
That date was chosen because it corresponds to the opening day of the United Nations Conference on Environment, held in 1972 in Stockholm, under the leadership of the United Nations Environment Programme.
This day is followed by numerous activities, where even this time major activities are organised by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, municipalities, nongovernmental organisations and other institutions.
