About 60 firefighters are facing a blaze on the 12th floor of a block in a tower east of London. Fire crews from London's birth circle rushed to extinguish the fire that had fallen on the multistory towers in Mile End's block about 12,30pm.
The flames broke the apartment on the 12th floor of the 22nd-fournd bloc, while residents were seen helpless.
More than 90 calls were made in emergency services amid alarm raised after the fire of Greenfell Tower. The fire broke out in a apartment in Grafton House, one of two 22-story residential blocks at Mile End.
Six fire engines were called from the area around the area after the flames had been seen jumping on the side of the building and the smoke was visible from around London.
The London Fire Brigade said about 40 people fled their homes in the bloc and the fire was under control within an hour and a half of their arrival. /Indesksonline/
