The decision to raise wages on the part of the Kosovo government is contrary to Kosovo's economic development. I invite Minister Hamza not to sign this decision because this decision will greatly damage Kosovo”, Gerjaliu said.
According to him, the decision to raise wages for a portion of state officials would hurt even more the private sector, which in recent times is facing many major problems in finding the workforce, as many young people dream of being employed in public administration.
The decisions on wage increases harm Kosovo, in economic, social, integration, and, more specifically, psychological and demotive terms for youth”, Gerxhaliu stressed.
He suggested that at first they thought the government would take on more in education, economic development and promotion of local entrepreneurship, but with the decision to raise wages is at odds with these objectives.
The whole thing proves the next concern that today is more protected by the interests of certain groups than the interests of the citizens of Kosovo”, he said.
Kosovo Economic Ode Chairman Safet Gerjaliu believes in the professionalism and ethics of Minister Hamza and he will not sign the decision to raise wages.
