In June, the final process of dialogue with Serbia will begin, Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has warned on Thursday, and has voiced expectations that the process could be completed within 2018. Such urgency, according to local development connoisseurs, is done on Serbia's behalf, Koha Ditore writes today.
It is the European Union's request that “a comprehensive and legally binding agreement for normalisation” should be reached by both countries, without the implementation of which there can be no membership. Such an attitude has been expressed this year in the new enlargement strategy in the Western Balkans. The document conditions moving forward, separately with the resolution of conflicts the countries of the region have with each other.
Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj, who in the two preliminary mandates has been foreign affairs minister, has told “Koha Ditore” that the EU currently has the top priority in the region to resolve the name dispute between Macedonia and Greece, and that once an agreement is reached on this primary attention will receive Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
