Bahtiri: Ibër Bridge Opens Soon

The Ibri Bridge will be opened soon, Mitrovica municipality mayor Agim Bahtiri has said.

He said the opening of the Ibër Bridge is in final phase. It is expressed that the bridge will be free for circulation very quickly without setting a precise date for when.

“We are working in that direction even with the company that has taken over the task of restoring the bridge, we are at the end of the phase, there are a few small parts that are working and I believe that soon the bridge will open”, Bahtiri told EO.

We are always in contact with Rakiqi, but we are working in the best interests of all citizens indiscriminately”, he said.

Meanwhile, according to Bahtir, determining administrative borders is holding Serbian List Chairman Goran Rakic hostage, who is not yet signing the memorandum.

We have had administrative borders in both Brussels and Pristina, and we are designated for administrative borders and with the international community. It remained that memorandum, which was signed to define administrative borders and is in the northern part, must be signed by Mr. Rakiq, meanwhile I am willing to sign it from today. He also spoke of a draft of Trepca's status, where he described it as bad and which, according to him, must be met, while demanding that the board of this company be released from politics and operated by field expert.

I think the draft Trepca status which is becoming I think is not good because the Independent Rate Trade Union opposes this and we need to see what the ability for miners to access draft”.

However, we need to know that status must be taken out of law and the law lacks this company and that I had asked the parliament speaker, but also the government of the Republic of Kosovo to make fulfillment in the Trepca law and make status under the law that citizens or miners ask for”.

I think that the Trepca board is a political board that has not to be, I demand that it be a board of experts, boards that have really known powerful management because Trepca is an extremely powerful company, is a company that is not only for Mitrovica but for all of Kosovo and must start in that direction to be made by devoted people, people who have the ability to manage them”, he said.
