So it says in the text of the resolution that the American Congress Foreign Affairs Commission approved regarding the execution of the Bytyqi brothers.
This resolution was made public by Kosovo's ambassador to the US, Vlora Citaku, who said she is impressed by the determination to resolve this case.
The “I bow before the determination of parents, family members and the Albanian-American community who persistently worked and never gave up demands for justice”, she wrote on Facebook.
These three brothers were arrested in Serbia for illegal border crossings in 1999, and after their release they were executed there.
The remains of Star, Mehmet and Agron were found in 2001 in an unmarked tomb shared a training camp in Petrovo Selo, near the town of Kladovo. Their hands were tied to the wire, their eyes wrapped with the headscarf, and each skull had a bullet hole: they were executed on the spot. They were found on a mass cemetery containing the corpses of 67 men and women from Kosovo.
Until this day, there are no detainees charged with killing the Bytyqi brothers.
In the resolution issued by Serbia, concrete measures for resolving this case could be damaged or diplomatic relations damaged.
Progress in resolving this case, or its shortages, should remain an important factor by detecting further development of relations between the United States and the Republic of Serbia.
