The volcano, about 40 kilometers southwest of the capital, has left behind it huge dust, stones, and black smoke.
The crisis management agency has said that part of the lava has affected a village, destroying homes within which there are people, reports the BBC. Even the airport is closed for dust.
The country has been declared a state of emergency for its biggest explosion since 1974.
