KFOR Commander Salvatore Cuoci and Interior Affairs Minister Betush Gashi also attended the certificate ceremony.
KFOR commander said big words for the police, comparing it to European Union state police, Kosovas reports.
According to the Italian general, this kind of co-operation is very important for the future of the police.
I can say freely that Kosovo police have the same quality and that it is very much prepared as all European police. It is important that this kind of co-operation continue to have knowledge and quality with the police of EU states. And when you have those knowledge and those capacities, you can offer the same security as an EU police officer in his country. Your mission is known to establish Kosovo and you know you are responsible for the security of this country”, Cuoci said.
That Kosovo police are ready for any situation and the commander of the Italian Carabinieri regiment, Merco Di Stefano, said.
He showed that this training has lasted three weeks and is very honored that today I will issue certificates to police officials.
Kosovo Police are willing to face any situation. For me as commander of the Carabinieri regiment, it is a great pleasure to have certificates for police, I hope that our co-operation will continue in the future and that we are always ready to assist the Kosovo Police in professional duties”, Di Stefano said.
While Interior Work Minister Batush Gashi said it is the most likely investment ever made in the Kosovo Police.
Kosovo is set for international co-operation and we are committed to fulfilling our expectations and Government goals to have a professional fight against corruption crime, and in particular terrorism. The precondition to meet this criterion is to prepare structures that will deal with these phenomena, so for me as minister and Government this is the most likely investment to increase cadrovic capacities by taking the actual international experiences of Italian carabinieri to deal with these phenomena the world in general faces, Gashi said.
This project was funded by the European Union and was promised that such training would occur in the future.
