During the opening of the new Oncology Institute in Belgrade, Vuciq declared that the ammunition used during the NATO campaign against the former Yugoslavia contained large quantities of impoverished uranium, which, according to him today, is adversely affecting the health of the Serbian population, broadcasts news.net.
I have learned today that more and more children are being diagnosed with cancer in our country every day. I'll be honest, at first I haven't believed the theories of poor uranium, but today, after talking with doctors, I realized that poor uranium is one of the many factors that cancer is causing at an early age”, Vuciq said.
Vuciq even added that Serbia would seek account for such a thing.
This is an unprecedented crime, and we as a state will deal very seriously with this”, Vuciq concluded.
Operation NATO came after the policies of ethnic cleansing of Albanians in Kosovo by the Serbian regime. Meanwhile, signs of malignant diseases from the impoverished uranium had also appeared to soldiers who were part of the peacekeeping mission shortly after the bombing.
