Trump suggested on Friday that the FBI could uninclimate or recruit informants to its campaign for political purposes, citing an unidentified report.
The deal comes during a meeting that Trump had had had with Deputy Prosecutor General Rod Rosenstein and federal investigator Christopher Wray, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said, reports “Reuters”, Periscopi broadcast.
The Department of Justice “has asked the general inspector to expand his current investigations to include any irregularities with the tactics of the Federal Bureau of Investigation or Justice concerning the Trump Camp”, Saunders said.
Federal investigators are investigating whether any person has been involved in co-operating with Russia, which has influenced Trump's victory in the American presidential election of 2016.
“If anyone has been involved in Trump's electoral campaign for inappropriate purposes, we must have knowledge to take concrete steps”, Rosenstein said./Periscopi/
