The Swedish government has started sending public pamphlets to this country's 4.8 million homes for the first time in half a century, showing them what to do when war happens.
Om Kriller Kriget Kommer [if the crisis or war comes] explains how people can provide basic security needs such as food, water and heating, which are the signs of alarm, where to find refuge to escape the bombings and how to contribute to Sweden's “overall defense” is broadcast by Periscopi.
The 20-page pamphlet, illustrated with photos of sirens, war aeroplins and families leaving their homes, also prepares the population for dangers such as cyber attacks and terror, for climate change, and includes a page that shows how to identify false news.
“Anni that Sweden is safer than any other country, yet there are still threats to our security and independence,” said in the brochure. If you're prepared, that means you're contributing to improving the country's ability to deal with major disasters. ”
Similar tracts were distributed in then neutral Sweden during World War II in 1943 during the peak of the war.
