South Korea has demanded that it be the mediator of the relationship between the United States of America (SHBA) and North Korea, which have demonstrated some objections to the historic meeting between the two leaders.
These comments have come after the threat from North Korea that they will not participate in the previous June 12th meeting in Singapore -- if Washington continues with unilateral pressure to give up North Korea's nuclear arsenal.
“We wanted to help close the gap between North Korean and US positions”, South Korean officials have said.
South Korea aims to continue talks with North Korea in order not to fail the summit between the two countries, which on Wednesday was cancelled by North Korea, Kosovo passes.
Last month the world witnessed a historic moment when North Korean leader Kim Jong met South Korean President Moon Yae on the border between the two countries.
The meeting with US President Trump was envisioned under meetings Kim Jong planned with world leaders, but recent statements from the isolated country seem to have dimmed the countries' approach.
