Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic has crashed with one of her cabinet ministers, and his homophobic statements have been made.

Minister without Portfolio Nenad Popovic, a member of the Serbian government, criticised the importation of children's books by Croatia for disagreeing with their content.

The Serbian prime minister, who has publicly acknowledged its homosexuality, said the minister had offended part of the citizens he works for, with his statement on LGBT issues. Brnabic said she will advise Popovic to spend more time doing his job.

His “task is to make sure that Roco, Stefan, Milos and any other children stay in Serbia, instead of dealing with who their parents are. This statement is not fully in the spirit of tolerance that this government of Serbia wants to promote”, Brnabic has declared during his visit to the City Assembly in Belgrade.

Popovic wrote on Twitter that he should not allow homosexual content books to enter the country.

At a time when we as a state fight in every way to support children, they are importing books with gay paintings from Croatia! This has to stop. We have to stay on the path of those who want to convince us that it's okay for Rocco to have two mothers, while ANA has two fathers, “crob.

Brnabic said he would speak privately to Popovic “to try to understand his message”.

I think he confuses everything with this statement. There's no connection between birth levels and someone who's gay. Community members also have reproductive organs, and no one, no government in the world can decide whether to have children “, Brnabyc said.
