As reported insider, the newly elected Kosovo Constitutional Court judge from the Serbian community, Radomir Laban, according to the Constitutional Court in Kraleva, which is responsible for implementing the commitments, has been convicted of taking bribes and sentenced to prison for six years, but which he has been accounted for in detention for a period of two years and four months.

In addition, the Court through the Ministry of Justice has sent prayers to the Office of the EU Representative in Pristina, with a request to take measures within its jurisdiction for Radomir Laban to be arrested so as to be sent to prison sentences.
Laban is one of 21 convicted in the judicial process against the so-called customs mafia, which was held at the Special Court for Organised Crime in Belgrade.
The arrests in connection with this indictment began in 2006, and the Special Court for Organised Crime issued a plea in 2011 that the group was convicted according to the indictment of benefiting multimillion by illegal smuggling of goods, including cigarettes, alcohol, household equipment, and textile goods.
Radomir Laban was tried as an intelligence department employee at the Customs Directorate, and in addition to the prison sentence, there has been a ban on performing all operations and duties at all organs and all jobs at Serbia's Customs Directorate for a period of ten years.
Although this ban is still in effect, as well as the request to go to prison sentence, he in Pristina elected the highest court judge.
Therefore, the Parliament's decision to elect Radomir Laban to the Constitutional Court has also had reactions from political organisations and parties in Kosovo.
The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has asked President Hashim Thaci not to decree Kosovo Constitutional Court Judge Radomir Laban, voted days ago by the Assembly of Kosovo without completing verification.
