Liverpool's legendary former captain Steven Gerard has signed a four-year contract today with the team from Ibrox, Glasgow Rangers, reports Guardian, broadcasting Periscope.
After final talks between club director Dave King and the former captain of Liverpool and England, an agreement was reached that begins a career coaching for the latter.
Rangers has not been in high shape last year, convincingly losing points even in direct matches against the main Celtic rivals headed by Brendan Rodgers, former Gerard himself coach.
This team had been deported to Scotland's fourth league four years earlier because of the bankrolling, but had climbed year after year to be part of the Scottish League Premier.
“I am honoured to be Rangers' next coach,” said in a statement, Gerard. “I have great respect for this club and its history and tradition. I'm not expected to start this trip with Rangers because we're trying to build a lot of new successes. ”
