Albanians are more than three times poorer than other Europeans, or exactly three times poorer than all other united European countries, before their membership in the union.
The Vienna Institute for Economic Studies' data thus places Albania's latest in Europe on domestic production Bruto's expression in purchasing power -- converted according to prices -- which makes the indicator more real in question.
It seems quite clear from the graph, Albania is the last on the continent with the production of Brto's internal production per capita expressed in purchasing power at 29% of the European average at the moment of membership in the union.
For other Western Balkan countries, which are almost in a dance with us in the membership process, the rate rises to over 30%.
Disconnected from others is only Montenegro, with a rate of 46%, which is higher than Romania and Bulgaria at the moment of their membership.
This means that, currently Montenegro is better than Romanians and Bulgarians were when they joined the union.
