Krasniqi: Serbia seeks huge share in Kosovo

The chairman of the National Initiative Council, Jakup Krasniqi, has reacted to clashes between Brussels and Belgrade over what laws the Association of Major Serb municipalities in Kosovo will be established.

According to him, Belgrade's reactions testify that Serbia is seeking a major share in Kosovo.

The reactions coming from Belgrade -- and especially from Serbia's Chairman Vucinqi -- are more than clear that Serbian official politics is demanding a bigger share in Kosovo, so they don't mind advanced rights and freedoms of Serbian citizens in Kosovo, they are wanting: The Serbian Republic or the division of Kosovo. Therefore, Vuciqi reacts to Brussels, saying: “Let the EU tell us where it says in the agreement that should be formed according to the laws in Kosovo”, he has written, Kosovo passes.

Kocijancic's statement about the association of ethnic Serb municipalities in Kosovo has greatly disturbed Belgrade, “associated should be formed only according to Kosovo laws”. Of course, the EU spokeswoman could also say according to the European Charter for Decentralisation of the Local Power and the General Document for the Kosovo Final Status Election, also known as the Ahtisaari document. One big truth is that, the Serb community has more advanced rights in the Constitution of Kosovo than any other community on our continent (Europe). Serbian is an official language, they have considerable autonomy in security, justice, education, health, etc.

Reactions coming from Belgrade, and especially from Serbia's Chairman of Vucinqi, are more than clear that Serbian official politics is demanding a bigger share in Kosovo, so they don't care about advanced rights and freedoms of Serbian citizens in Kosovo, they are wanting: The Serbian Republic or the division of Kosovo. Therefore, Vuciqi reacts to Brussels, saying: “Let the EU tell us where it says in agreement that should be formed according to laws in Kosovo”.

Of course, Vuciqi is showing his purpose when he says: “where it says that association should be formed with the laws of Kosovo”. So he is demanding that association be made according to Serbia's laws and what Serbia's laws say, Serbian officials often declare as the choir of swamp frogs.

These statements and many others must take into account all those senior officials or experts who will deal with the talks on forming the majority Serb municipalities' association. But one thing needs to be considered: Only the requirement for ethnic - based association is against the spirit of the Constitution. Therefore, it is more than clear, Serbia is seeking another level of power, and only for Serbs. So Serbia's demand is not for association but for a community of Kosovo Serbs similar to the Community of Bosnian Serb Communities.

This trap of Serbia can only go away by approaching the existing Kosovo Communists statue, so as it is in the Constitution of Kosovo and its laws and other above-mentioned documents.
