The voices of ministers and other Kosovo government officials, who say they were not consulted by the Albanian Government for Tax on Nation Street, also joined Ramush Haradinaj.
In an interview given to Star Rakipi on the “Unexposed” this Thursday, Kosovo's prime minister did not rule out the possibility that if required, Pristina could contribute from its budget to maintaining this road.
If the maintenance costs of the road were in question, we could also pay from the Kosovo budget a sum not to impose such a high tax”, he said.
Haradinaj claims it is not against the fee, but insists that it is high. According to Kosovo's prime minister, this tax could harm relations between the two countries, especially trade and tourism.
This is not a good signal. Usually, concessions are made to tourism, which may have an impact on this field”, he said.
Asked by journalist Rakipi, if Kosovo is thinking of setting a tax on the rest of the road, Haradinaj replied that such a thing would not happen in his mandate as prime minister, but could happen in the future.
“won't set in this mandate a road tax, we're still in the process of finishing cars. We are closing the road to Skopje this year. We're starting the Dukagjin Highway from Istog in Priseren, at Pec, Decani, Gjakova, Prizren. We are also heading for Pristina-Peje, closing down Pristina-Mitrovica. So we for about three years complete the entire Kosovo infrastructure”
