The burial of the first lady has begun, with some 1,500 people present.
Previous presidents, pizza owners and historians are among the guests in the private service being held at St Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas.
The first American former lady was separated from life Tuesday at the age of 92, due to heavy health.
Her son, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, has been selected to keep his integrity in the church where his parents have been members since the 1950s.
