Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) has published the harmonised Consumption Awards Index for February compared to the January month prices of this year. According to the publication, consumer prices have marked an increase of 0.3%.
This price hike is noted in consumer products, to meat 0.8%, trees 4.1% of vegetables 4.3% and to use equipment for personal transport. 0.6%.
The overall harmonised consumption prices in the country are higher by 0.3% in February 2018, compared to January 2018. This is mainly explained with the rise of consumer prices in COICOP subgroups: meat (0.8%); tree (4.1%); vegetables (4.3%); use of personal transport equipment (0.6%), with a common impact of these subgroups for 0.4% at IHCK”, says the publication of the AK.
This hike was neutralised, mainly from falling consumer prices to the milk, cheese and eggs subgroup (-1.1%) with an impact of (-0.1 %) on IHCK.
On the other side of the ASK publication noted that in February this year compared to February of February last year, several price hikes were observed on bread, cereals, meat, oils, trees, coffee, tea, tobacco and transport services, writes Insyder.
“against the change in February 2018 of the overall harmonised consumer price index, with February 2017, in this period some changes in the prices of articles and services in groups and subgroups of COICOP. Price hikes are noted in sub-groups: bread and cereal (2.5%); meat (1.5%); oils and fats (2.7%); tree (12.5%); coffee, tea and cocoa (4.6%); tobacco (3.5%); transport services (2.2%) - With a combined impact of these sub-groups 1.0% on IHCK”, the ASK publication said.
This lift was further said to be neutralized mainly by the drop in milk prices, cheese, eggs, vegetables, sugar, candy, and some other products.
“The hike was neutralised, mainly by the drop in prices in this subgroup period: milk, cheese and eggs (-4.1%); vegetables (-2.4%); sugar and candy (-7.4%); electricity, gas and other fuels (-9.4%) - (power prices drop in February 2018 for (15.4%), compared to February 2017th) winter fees; audio-visule, information processing (-70%), with a common impact of these times (0%% in Kosovo's Balkans), the Statistics Agency is said to report to Kosovo.
