Monument home in Prizren is also destroyed

At Prizren's Historical Centre, the home of the Hisari family has collapsed, which enjoyed protection with the Prizren Historical Centre Law. This house is listed in appendix II of this Law, respectively, Cultural Monuments at the Prizren Historical Centre. It says that the home of Hilmi Hissar belonged to the 20th century.

Non-government organisation “EC Ma unlike” says that according to initial information received by local cultural heritage authorities, the house has been in poor condition for housing.

“This is why institutions have long had to engage in two directions: to ensure the lives of residents and also to protect the monument. This house, according to researchers, had historical, scientific, artistic, identity, economic and functional”, the NGO says.

“The EC Mau Mace” has so many times reacted to the destruction of cultural heritage monuments in Prizren, and especially at the city's Historical Centre, and reiterated again the position that it is the last moment for state bodies to act seriously on the full implementation of legislation in relation to this protected area, always ignoring the need for citizens' safety.
