Minister Luka says Board of PTK to be operational early next month

Economic Development Minister Valdrin Luka has indicated that the Kosovo Board for Telecom will be functional in the coming month.

It is true that the post office has not been on board since December 2016. This is really bad that happened. As you know, the last government has arrived in September and normally has already started recruiting procedures. Even for Telekom and Trepca by 25 this month are the final interviews, and at the end of this month, I believe all board members will be informed. We're going to have a functional body body”, Luka told EO.

He added that lack of boards in public companies negatively affects their good functioning.

“Bord plays the role of the government representative, and any changes within companies should be on board to make decisions, so the lack of the board normally has various consequences that have occurred over time in these companies. We had other boards that weren't functional, which were functional part of it. So I agree that the lack of a board is not a good thing for public enterprises, but I believe that by the end of this month we'll have the board operational”, he concluded.
