The situation for former Albanian entrepreneur in America Martin Shkreli is getting worse and worse at a time when his sentence is approaching. US prosecutors demanded this Tuesday that a federal judge be sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for violating security standards.
Prosecutors said the lack of penance in his stance and that of respect for the law justify the time he must spend behind bars. The prosecution named Shkrele a man who has repeatedly chosen to put the benefit and cultivate public image ahead of everything and a man who believes that purpose always justifys the vehicle.
The penalty for the 34-year-old is expected to be handed out on Friday on charges of fraud of investors and manipulation of the value of shares of his pharmaceutical company.
Benjamin Brafman, Shkrell's lawyer, did not respond to the media's request for a comment, but earlier he had demanded a sentence of 12 to 18 months in prison for his client.
The 34-year-old is in prison since last September, when the judge denied his freedom after offering $5 thousand reward for anyone who pulled a hair out of the former candidates for President Hillary Clinton. However, it was best known when it increased the price of the Daraprim anti-inflict drug by over 5,000 percent in 2015, when he was executive director of the company “Tourism Pharmaceuticals”
