“Macedonia the only name that can be accepted by citizens”

What university professor Tony Deskoski says about the dynamics of talks that are under way between Macedonia and Greece is believed to be true.

” We are slowly beginning to face reality, for the huge differences that exist between Macedonia and Greece. In our opinion, there was an unfounded optimism that was stimulated by Athens. Meetings during December came to information that the New Macedonia proposal -- which was the final agreement -- had remained the selection of details, but found that these were “fluska”. The name dispute is now moving in the right direction from the Macedonian side, and it is necessary to find a choice for compromise, and Macedonia and Greece will reach a solution and withdraw from their distinguished positions. Unfortunately, Greece, which twenty years has not withdrawn from its previous positions that Macedonia is an artificial nation and a state established by Tito to take over Greek Macedonia's” territories, Deskovski says.

According to the professor representing Macedonia before the Court of Justice in The Hague, when Macedonia indicted and won Greece for violating the Interim Agreement, then the most acceptable compromise is Republic of Macedonia (Skopje).

This would make a clear distinction between the Macedonian state with a geographical definition according to its capital and the northern Greek province, called Macedonia, to end territorial claims that are unfounded.

Professor Donevski also believes that only the Republic of Macedonia (Skopje) can pass into a referendum as a draft decision.
